This was a purely accidental stop on our journey, and has absolutely nothing remotely to do with archaeology or history. It was one of those moments where something catches the corner of your eye and then you are forced to abruptly slam on the brakes and veer into their driveway.
I previously knew the Log Barn (www.logbarn.ca) as merely a stall of meats, cheeses, salsas, etc. that sprang up in the local mall each year around Christmas time. I had no idea it was a place, a magical, mind-boggling, crazy place filled with food. It’s like a menagerie made up of cast off amusement/theme park animals, and dinosaurs, and dragons, and live goats….
Favorites were the ham sausage with honey mustard and the butter tarts that were the size of small pies. Warning, when they say spicy, they mean it. Luckily they had tasty cheese on hand to help with the horrendous burning. And you can get a meal or visit the ice cream parlor….oh such a magical, unexpected place you must visit.
